This Mother’s Day give a gift of comfort to some of the most threatened mothers and infants in the world
It’s that time of year when we recognize the Mothers in our lives. From our birth mothers to our grandmothers, stepmothers and godmothers - all the women who have helped to make our world a better place. This year consider a gift that gives back. A donation in her name that honors her efforts by improving the life of a vulnerable mother and infant in need.
Your gift of 17€ will provide a Happy Baby Carrier for a Congolese mother in need. The Congo is consistently ranked one of the toughest places in the world to be a Mother. Despite having one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world, women in the Congo will have an average of 6.6 children, with 98 out of 1000 children dying before their 5th birthday.
Through your donation to our non-profit organization, our project leaders are able to promote, encourage and educate these at risk communities about the benefits of babywearing for the first 4 months of an infant’s life.
Our carrier design allows for a newborn infant to be safely carried close to the mother’s breast, which complements the traditional babywearing practice with additional ease and security. Our programs highlight the benefits of attachment parenting, as well as the promotion of early and exclusive breastfeeding for infants. Not only does breastmilk give them all the nutrients they need for a healthy development, it also contains antibodies that help protect them from diarrhea and pneumonia, two of the primary causes of child mortality worldwide.
Years of conflict and instability have ravaged the Congo. Poverty, malnutrition and chronic illness rates are incredibly high with a majority of the population surviving on less than $1.25 a day. 100% of your generous Mother’s Day donation will go to providing a low cost, locally made, ergonomic carrier to a rural mother in need.
